What is soft skills training?

What is soft skills training?

Soft skills training is training that promotes social, communicative and personal skills. These include communication, conflict management, feedback culture, teamwork, leadership skills and self-organization.

Why are soft skills important?

  • 80 % of conflicts are communication problems

  • Specialist knowledge without relationship skills leads to a loss of friction

Why some training courses don't work...

Why many soft skills training courses fall flat:

  • One-off workshops without transfer

  • Not anchored in the corporate culture

  • No involvement of the management

  • No systemic view

Our approach: training as part of transformation:

  • Training programs over a longer period of time (also in the form of virtual nuggets)
  • Individually tailored to the people and the company
  • Close to the real world and people’s everyday working lives

FAQ

What is the difference between training and coaching?

Training imparts specific skills and methods to a group and follows a clear learning objective. Coaching, on the other hand, is individual, process-oriented and supports individuals in developing their own solutions.

Soft skills can be measured if clear behavioral indicators are defined – for example, feedback quality, conflict rate or employee satisfaction. There are also effects on productivity, staff turnover and team performance. You can use a potential analysis to measure soft skills in relation to the requirements of the job. Yes, because unresolved conflicts cost companies time, energy and performance. Professional conflict management reduces frictional losses and significantly increases efficiency and employee loyalty.

Soft skills training usually lasts two to three days, but can also be designed as a multi-part training series (several modules or short virtual nuggets). A lasting effect is achieved in particular when practical phases and transfer formats are integrated.

Sustainable impact is not achieved through a one-off seminar. But through transfer support and management involvement. When training is embedded in the corporate culture, it has a long-term and structural effect.
